The Opportunity:

Assistant Branch Manager; full-time, in-person position in State College, PA.

We’re looking for an experienced, member-focused Assistant Branch Manager to help lead our branch team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure the branch meets its financial, operational, service, and growth goals. You’ll guide staff, serve members, and make lending decisions within your delegated authority, all while creating a welcoming environment that reflects our values.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the credit union philosophy and Sales and Service culture to provide high quality service, assess needs, provides solutions and establishes strong rapport with members to ensure continued financial partnership.
  • Utilize appropriate resources to resolve routine and complex member problems accurately and effectively accommodating members request the first time.
  • Actively promote the credit union in a positive and professional way and participate in outreach and branch activities which support team goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional environment and engaging members, performing transactions, opening and closing accounts, providing lending services and resolving issues within defined authority.
  • Provide expertise and educate members on credit union advantages to increase product and service utilization and deepen the relationship.
  • Interview member loan applicants to effectively evaluate their financial situation and needs. Explain and recommend loan options. Underwrite and approve consumer loans up to designated authority or forward the loan request to a higher decision making level.
  • Direct, motivate and evaluate employee performance and schedule, train and monitor work of direct reports within the branch. Identify performance problems and take action to correct. Assist in hiring process as requested.
  • Monitor and manage branch cash and needs appropriately.
  • Assure appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
  • Monitor branch office operations and activity for adherence to proper security protocol, ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and take appropriate action to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Manage branch office, as needed, in the absence of and at the direction of supervisor.
  • Monitor branch operating results relative to established objectives. Assist Branch Manager in achieving branch goals.
  • Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures to maximize effectiveness and quality of work and provide consistent quality service to members throughout entire branch network.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, preferably in a credit union or banking environment
  • A two-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of credit union regulations, deposit products, and lending practices
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and build trust
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to delivering a consistent, high-quality member experience
