The Opportunity:

Senior Member Advocate; full-time, in-person position in State College, PA.

The Member Advocate serves the members within a branch retail environment, is responsible for the full relationship of new and existing members, evaluates and assists members with their financial needs and provides solutions in a professional manner. Performs all essential functions of branch operations in the areas of new accounts, deposit products, remote services and consumer lending.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Interview member loan applicants to evaluate their financial situations and loan need conditions. Explain loan programs and recommend loan options.
  • Supports the credit union philosophy and Sales and Service culture to provide high-quality member service by listening carefully to assess member needs and identify opportunities to offer appropriate product and service solutions.
  • Assist members with opening and closing accounts, answer questions about products and services and resolve problems within his/her authority.
  • Perform regular outreach and contact with members and participate in sales development activities.
  • Cross-sell appropriate credit union products and services and participate in sales development activities.
  • Establishes rapport with members to ensure continued financial partnership and deepening the relationship with the credit union.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources to resolve routine and complex member problems accurately and effectively accommodating member requests the first time.
  • Actively participates in branch promotions/contests, staff meetings and other branch activities which support team goals.
  • Assist in promoting the credit union to employers and non-members and to help maintain a positive and professional relationship.
  • Responsible for engaging members, performing transactions, providing account information, opening new accounts, performing lending services and handling CU members needs in a professional manner.
  • Educate members on advantages of credit union products and services to increase member utilization and deepen their relationship with the credit union.
  • Provide expertise with respect to credit union products and services and make appropriate referrals.
  • Monitor and manage branch cash and needs appropriately.
  • Assure appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.

  • A high school education or GED.
