Business Loan Portfolio Manager (Hybrid)

The Opportunity:
Member Business Loan Portfolio Manager; full-time, in-person position in State College, PA. Optional hybrid schedule (up to 20%).
We seek a self-motivated, friendly professional to process and administer commercial business loans. This role oversees servicing, documentation and maintenance of all business-related loan records and assists administrative duties in other lending areas of the credit union. Additional responsibilities include; set up new business loans, post loan payments, line of credit advances and other business-related transactions to the credit union’s loan servicing system. This position will assist in originating, processing and managing the credit union’s member business loan portfolio with an overall objective of maintaining and increasing the asset quality, and develop new and existing business relationships.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist lending team in evaluation of potential member business loan requests and takes applications for Member Business Loan business. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the member's ability to repay the loan. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and assists in closing member business loans.
- Assist lending team in negotiating credit terms such as interest rates, fees, loan repayment methods, repayment structure, collateral, etc., within Credit Union policies and procedures and to be competitive with current market conditions.
- Assist lending team in preparing credit memos and supporting documentation to be reviewed by Member Business Loan committee. Attend loan committee meetings.
- Assist lending team in developing and maintaining business lending and deposit relationships for the Credit Union. May assist lender with existing and potential members with the goal of expanding and developing business relationships.
- Monitors existing member business loan portfolio to maintain a high quality asset base. Oversees and manages member business financial information including, but not limited to, gathering annually updated tax returns, personal financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, accounts receivable, updated leases and rent rolls, and other information related to member business lending relationships.
- Performs periodic and timely reviews of member business lending relationships as directed by Credit Union policy.
- Assist lending team in preparing regular reports to senior management and Board of Directors on lending strategies, goals, activities and related information.
- Maintain a log recording for mortgages, assignments, vehicle titles, title insurance policies, UCC financing statements, insurance policies, tax records, member financial information and any loan related documents needed to complete and maintain the loan file.
- Set up relevant files and maintain existing files within the department. Process loan payments and maintain loan records. File required loan documentation with the appropriate agencies.
- Prepare payoff letters, satisfaction pieces, termination documents and other correspondence. Forward payoff letters to title companies and members as requested.
- Stay informed of new laws and regulations that influence business lending and makes recommendations to management as appropriate. Ensures the Credit Union's compliance with all member business lending rules and regulations.
- Assist lending team in annual financial statement collection. Utilize the loan servicing software to manage and maintain member business loan records.
- Assist lending team in closing preparation. Order appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and other related tasks as directed. Coordinate the closing with the business member and settlement company. Prepare payoff letters, satisfaction pieces, termination documents and other correspondence. Forward payoff letters to title companies and members as requested.
- Provides business loan participants with the most current loan file information available.
- Assist lender in working with auditors and examiners on annual and comprehensive audits and exams.
- Represents the Credit Union at various networking, professional functions and events with the goal of developing new business relationships.
- Develops and maintains relationships with other credit union and industry professionals through networking efforts.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3 - 5 years of similar or related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
